Look Who Jumped Over The Quicksand (G-uno)

“Jack be nimble, and Jack be quick,” that’s exactly how he made it over his candle stick. G-uno was stunned, and  into the quicksand she almost did slip. Then out of the blue she remembered her most recent abyss.

She felt her heart drop, and her mind began to wander, to the deep dark place where for four years she did wander. A place so dark where the good air did not live, where she did walk around but really did not exist.

She was lost in her grief, and swallowed by her despair by a loss so deep no other seemed to compare. The emotional quicksand that had swallowed her whole, suddenly reappeared disguised as a place she could choose to go.

She remembered sweet Jack who had avoided a burn, and she decided to follow the lesson he had learned. She took a deep breath, and with both feet she did leap, making it over the quicksand that was deathly deep.

She no longer fears the fate she awaits, instead she fears the slow death without an escape. The quicksand that beckoned her to fall into it’s depths watched as she ran towards the more solid earth.

She stared back at the quicksand with her eyes wide open, knowing inside it would always be open. Knowing in her heart she had truly awoken. 😉

Thank you so much! There is a huge story behind this, and after jumping over the “quicksand” I was so emotionally spent that it was the best I could do to express what had just happened. I’ve read your beautiful poetry so I know that you completely get this feeling. 😉 Thanks for reading! G-uno
