I’m always late with media, but it always gets me on some random thought process that I either hyperfocus on until something else comes along or I purge it here.

Frankly, there really isn’t a topic I find more revolting and even more so due to how truly common it is. I get that it is defined as the sexual attraction to a prepubescent child. But the older I get, the more the definition of “child” in my mind expands to those in their thirties and below. I find the large gap of 70 year old men with 40 year old women nothing more than socially acceptable pedophilia because… ew.

Yeah, that’s the face of someone in love.

I get it, I don’t understand it and yes, I guess some of those women (and of course, young men) are actually cool with it and not just having mommy or daddy issues as a foundation of their attraction. I do remember the raging hormonal crushes I had over the older mature celebrity adult as a child, but they were thankfully unattainable and it should have been revolting had anything ever been reciprocated with a child of any age.

I know, I could go on for hours about gross old men singing about young teenage girls. If you have to ask a female her age before you make disparaging comments about her body, please do us all a favor and shut the fuck up. Find a gun, point it at yourself and squeeze while you’re at it. Society could certainly use the upgrade.

The only “dad” I have ever known, Bill Cosby. He represented a lot of good to generations of kids. A house of cards built on lies. May he rot in hell for all he’s done. He betrayed the whole world.

Now, one of the biggest arguments about gay marriage I’ve heard from my childhood on, mostly from those in the GOP squad, was that it would “pave the way” to marriage with children, farm animals, and various other atrocities. Two consenting adults want to become legally bound to one another, protecting their assets and become a family by law and now we’re all going to fuck sheep because of it.

Sounds legit.

The republican party, of course, is dominated by mostly older, white men. Feel free to google that demographic.

I ended up studying pedophilia, among other things, during a psychology course. I had a professor who was also a judge (oh, the stories…) and we got into a big discussion about how pedophilia was indeed a recognized mental disorder and not a criminal one unless acted upon.

Let’s just slide by the fact old gross mostly white, hetero men made business arrangements with other old white gross men to buy their prepubescent children for arranged marriages until it was finally outlawed…like in the 1970’s?

One of my classmates brought up the farm animal (aka fucktard) argument as though any of it was based in science. My professor laughed and he explained to us the demographic of the “average” pedophile, as they had been able to ascertain so far:

Older, middle to upper middle class white men who identified as heterosexual….usually with children of their own, wives, respected members of their communities… the kind you’d never suspect. The kind more likely to say… blame the gay population and join the GOP?

Let that sink in. Let it sink in how many of that demographic you have met throughout your life and trusted implicitly.

He went on to explain that MOST pedophiles never act on those urges but they are there, always, those urges and desires. So the nice dad of a friend might have been thinking something entirely different when he said you were a “good” kid.

I never saw the entire concept that grossed me out about this so well explained until I saw Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in the below (again, I’m WAY behind on media to this was new to me):

Now I’ve discussed this with coworkers and friends and they do not seem to get the revulsion I see in it. It’s all just very normal to them. Dating a person the same age as one of your children is just beyond my comprehension. I have almost nothing I can relate with either extremely older or younger people. I may find them fascinating, they may make wonderful friendships, but having any balance of a relationship is just nonexistent. I would either be worlds ahead and feel I would talk down or vice versa. Discussions of pill organizers, grandchildren who never call and colostomy bags just do not interest me right now. You want to talk to me about how much you love that Swift chick or what one of those trashbags Kard..whateverthefuck are doing, I’ll punch you in the throat.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t give a damn about 12, 15, even in some cases maybe 20 years of difference. Doesn’t interest me personally in the slightest… but when you get to that buffer where you are actually more than old enough to have been a parent or god forbid, grandparent, to the person you wish to pursue romantically, you’re just a damn pedophile.
